Amadeus the 'Shield Brother'
It is the Dwarven tradition to have the squires and the initiatives of their rich warrior tradition to be "Shield Brothers", a group dedicated to the maintenance and carrying of the veteran's shields. Amadeus is a seasoned fighter, yet he still knows as a "Shield Brother", and he can always be spotted on the Frontline of an adventure, dual wielding them and blocking all harm throw at the Adventurer's trope. Such a unique fighting style was worth the inspection. Here's what he had to say.
"Old Amadeus here is a fool. Do you get that? Write it down. I'm a fool. While all other dwarves dreamed to wield their fabled shields into battle and fight for king and honor, I only cared about the shields. Have you seen my kill count? That's right, zero. I'm not a violent guy you see. For me, it's the duty of a Dwarven warrior to be a guardian, a defender of the mountains and their precious nature. And I cannot do it you know? The killing I mean. So when I became a Shield Brother and realize I could help the brave heroes on their adventures by pushing, shoving and protecting them out of harm's way, I had to do it! All the thanks I ask is a cold beer after I'm finished protecting your behind."
Quite the jolly fellow, we redacted his constant laughter. Keep those shields up, Amadeus!
The book is filled with other equally colorful adventurer entries.
